Deputy Director, Quality Assurance (Academics), MIS Administrator, Research Fellow, Marketing Officer, Clinical Officer, Nurse

The University wishes to recruit qualified persons to fill vacant positions for the position of Deputy Director, Quality Assurance (Academics), MIS Administrator, Research  Fellow, Marketing Officer, Clinical   Officer, Nurse.

MIS Administrator

Working under the direction of the Director, Information, Communication and Technology the MIS Administrator will be expected;

  1. To support and maintain the MIS system(s) focusing on the development, implementation, training, use and problem solving relating to these systems databases.
  2. To ensure the security and efficiency of the system (s) data storage and retrieval.
  3. To perform specialized duties depending on the requirements of the university. d) To implement training, maintenance and upgrading of MIS system.
  4. To play an active role to ensure successful implementation of ICT projects.
  5. To ensure change management, system alterations and enhancements are controlled and in line with ICT best practices.
  6. To maintain systems backup, security and contingency plans to ensure continuity and availability of the University systems.
  7. To perform any other duty that may be assigned your supervisor.

Minimum Qualification

  1. Bachelors in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  2. Able to work with minimal supervision, independently or as part of a team.

Research Fellow

Working under the direction of the Director, Research and Innovation and the Heads of Programmes at the Directorate the research fellow will be expected;

  1. To maintain records and a database of Research and Innovation Grants at the University.
  2. To ensure monitoring and evaluation of both internally and externally funded research projects.
  3. To prepare grant reports as well as technical reports to the University and funding agencies in a timely manner.
  4. To ensure proper and timely accountability of Research and Innovation Grant disbursements.
  5. To receive and validate all the accounting documents from the projects Principal Investigators.
  6. To receive quarterly reports of all projects from Principal Investigators.
  7. In liaison with the grant donor and the University Finance Department prepare all grants contractual documents.
  8. To prepare research reports and publications.
  9. To support in data collection and analysis.
  10. To take minutes in technical meetings of the Directorate.
  11. To prepare annual reports on research activities.
  12. To maintain annual research bulletin, and annual book of abstracts for students’ projects and theses.
  13. To disseminate information on research funding opportunities and Grant Calls to Departments, Schools and Campuses in a timely manner.
  14. To assist the Directorate to comply with the Quality Management System requirements based on ISO 2009:2015.
  15. To assist Ethics Review Committee secretariat in preparing reports and communicate the same to the ethical clearance applicants.
  16. To receive and process ethics clearance application for review/evaluation.
  17. To prepare ethics review reports and feedback to applicants.
  18. To initiate and maintain a database of local and external funding agencies.
  19. To initiate and maintain a database of research collaborators.
  20. To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director, Research and Innovation.

Minimum qualification

  1. Masters in a relevant field, preferably biomedical sciences

Deputy Director, Quality Assurance (Academics)

  1. Working under the direction of the Director, Quality Assurance the Deputy Director, Quality Assurance will be expected;
  2. To review curricula to ensure they meet the Senate requirements and Commission for University Education requirements.
  3. To ensure Quality in Academics service delivery.
  4. To conduct student satisfaction surveys
  5. To conduct service satisfaction surveys. Data entry and analysis
  6. To coordinate the collection of reports from departments and schools
  7. To coordinate submission of Quality Assurance reports from campuses
  8. To maintain documents and records that pertains to quality assurance in academics.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A minimum of a Master’s Degree from a recognized University.
  2. Proven experience in curriculum development at University level will be an added advantage.

Marketing Officer

Working under the direction of the respective Director/Campus Registrar Finance, Administration and Marketing the Marketing Officer will be expected;

  1. To institutionalize and implement the university marketing policy.
  2. To enhance the corporate image of the university.
  3. To directly market all the university programmes.
  4. To undertake frequent market surveys to understand market trends.
  5. To prepare monthly marketing reports.
  6. To develop a database for potential students and target groups.
  7. To prepare a marketing work plan for approval by the University Management Board.
  8. To effectively deal with all matters related to public relations and customer care.

Any other duty assigned by directors of campuses, Campus Registrars Finance, Administration and Marketing (FAM) (where applicable) and the coordinators of ODEL centres.

Qualifications for a.Marketing Officer

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or social sciences Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
  2. Internet and computer literate skills
  3. At least five years’ work experience as a marketing or sales officer
  4. Professional certification or organizational membership like Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK)

Clinical Officer

Working under the direction of the Coordinator, Health Clinic the Clinical Officer will be expected;

  1. To examine, diagnose and treat patients common ailments at the University health facility
  2. To guide and counsel patients, clients and staff on Health issues
  3. To sensitize patients and clients on preventive promotive health
  4. To carry out minor surgical procedures as per training skill
  5. To collect and compile clinical data
  6. To refer patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Diploma in Clinical Medicine Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution
  2. Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers’ Council
  3. Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

Nurse
Working under the” direction of respective Campus Director/Campus Registrar Finance, Administration and Marketing the Nurse will be expected;

  1. To examine, diagnose and treat patients common ailments at the University health
  2. facility
  3. To guide and counsel patients, clients and staff on Health issues
  4. To sensitize patients and clients on preventive promotive health
  5. To carry out minor surgical procedures as per training skill
  6. To collect and compile clinical data
  7. To refer patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Holder of a Kenya Registered Nurse or Kenya Registered Community Health
  2. Nurse Diploma from a recognized training College Be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
